Hello World! Happy Saturday! As most of you know, we put our house on the market and in 4 days time we had 4 offers to choose from. The close date is fast approaching and we continue to look for a house. It is looking like we might move in with my Mom and place the rest of our furniture in storage. I don't want to make a rush decision in purchasing a house just because my close date is approaching. Thank God for Moms!
Anyhoo, I promised I would show you room by room what my house looked like after achieving the staged status.
First stop, the office.
You will notice the gold chairs have been moved in here from the Family Room. The table is where I have my quiet time, plan my day, blog, and make up my voice lesson plans for my voice students.
Let's take a look at the progression of the office.
It started out as the nursery. When Little Dedicated moved upstairs, it became my office.
I didn't change the paint until I staged the house. The paint color is Shabby Chic by Benjamin Moore.
Lots of stuff to go through and put in storage.
I didn't even give you a look in the closet. Trust me, it was full, full, full of Christmas decorations and baby clothes.
The entertainment center used to live in the Family Room. Now she stands tall in the office.
Here we go for the all cleaned up office. This shot is looking in from the hallway.
I moved the table underneath the window to open up the space. And, for every showing, (and there were 27 showings in less than a week) I would make sure the table was clear of my books, notebooks, and laptop.
The closet doors open up to one large closet. The door on the far right leads out to the hallway.
The closet got a good cleaning out. All that is left are the paint choices for the house and my Bissell steam cleaner.
The other side houses the ironing board, iron, sewing machine and my ironing. Also, up top, you can see my bath mats. More on that later.
So, that's the office all cleaned out, painted, and staged.
If you are staging your house to put it out the market follow these steps to hopefully get your choice of offers:
1. Get a climate controlled storage unit.
2. Next step, go though everything and start sorting it out.
3. Clean baseboards.
4. Paint walls and baseboards if needed.
5. Remove ALL personal items such as pictures. I know it seems strange, but when a potential buyer walks into a home they need to be able to picture their family living there and it's hard to do that if there are walls full of family portraits.
6. Stage your home like it is a model home. Keep it clean and vacuumed.
And, here is the picture that the photographer took for our listing.

Thank you for dropping by for a visit! Have a lovely day and remember to be kind to one another! Joy to the Full!

You are doing great on all that staging! I'm not sure how we ever managed to sell houses before "staging" became the buzz-word.....lol!
ReplyDeleteWow it looks great. Makes me wish my house could look like that all the time. I guess thats part of the point of the staging now that I think about it. Thanks for linking up to Snickerdoodle Sunday and best of luck with everything.
