Hello World! Whew, I got the big tree's lights working again. Okay, I'm never buying a pre-lit tree again. It may save time the first couple of years, but eventually those suckers blow. And, I always add lights to the tree even if it is pre-lit. It was one section of pre-lit that had blown. I had to use a flashlight and basically dig through the tree and use a long extension cord to find out what was working and what wasn't. Thank goodness that is behind me. And, the ballet party was a ton of fun not only for Little Dedicated, but for me as well. We Dance Mom's are quite the chatty bunch and we are not mean like the ones on tv.
Okay, let's get to the amazing features. Welcome to Week 80 of:

Hi Kathryn! I feel your pain with the pre-lit trees. I have a couple of sections that have quit on me over the years and we have had to cut the wires and add in new lights. What a mess! Anyway, glad you are back in business. I'm sure your tree is gorgeous. Thanks for the party this week and thanks bunches for featuring my Hash Brown Potato-Corn Chowder. What a fun treat! Have a super week!

PS: My friend bought a pre-lit tree and now it's all gone! Lights never work, my tree is dark smack in the middle now; hubby said he'll check them out tomorrow, lol!

Glad you got your tree working! This is the third year with mine. So far no problem. I am dreading the day that it starts to short out. My SIL just went clear through theirs and got it working again. Not fun! Really great features! Merry Christmas!

So sorry about your tree lights -- I have totally given up on the pre-lit trees because I have three go out. Thanks for hosting, and glad you got your situation taken care of.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting. Sorry for your stress, but hope you manage to have a great holiday.
ReplyDeleteI am ever so happy that you got your light situation fixed. I have to say I am not a fan of the pre-lit trees either. I have a beautiful pink tree and I ended up cutting those lights off and I put my own on when I use it. Hopefully the rest fo yoru holiday will be BRIGHTER without being so much work. Thanks for hosting. Love Jennelise Rose's blog and her Christmas decor. Have a beautiful and fully lit week. Hugs, Beverly
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting. So sorry about the lights. I purchase a tree without the lights and put my own on and leave them on when I take it down. Keep my fingers crossed that I have no problems. So glad that your is working now.
ReplyDeleteHave a Very Merry Christmas.
Mary

PS: I'm sure YOUR eyes lit up when you go the tree going, too!:-D
Kathryn, First of all, Thank You for hosting Make it Pretty Monday. Secondly, I had the same problem with my pre-lit tree this year. I checked all of the lights, changed the fuses in the plug, ran the unlit section into a separate extension cord, and with all of that no luck. Until I went to pick it up by grabbing the interior branches and suddenly Voila the lights went on. Go figure!
ReplyDeleteKathryn,
ReplyDeleteWow-what a wretched time you had! We have an ancient prelit tree and are done with it, last year we had multiple extension cords on the back side of it to keep it going! Glad your issues are resolved. Thanks for the party!
Happy Week-
Jemma
I agree with the pre-lit trees - great idea, but needs to be refined!! Nothing worse than lights going out! Thanks for hosting - hope you have a great rest of the week. Jane
ReplyDeleteThank you for your party! Merry Christmas!!! Julia

I think I will have to make that holiday bark. It looks wonderful! That's the best thing about having a cleaning service is that it frees up a little bit more time for some fun Christmas baking.
