Hello World! The sun finally came out yesterday long enough for me to grab the camera and take a few shots of my latest golden transformation. Here is the gilded cage on the newly painted chest.
This is what she looked like before.
I used Rustoleum Metallic spray paint. It took maybe all of 5 minutes to paint her.
I think I shall name her Gilda.
Look at my baby back there. She was one in this picture.
Gilda the Gilded Cage, how I love how you look. I know some will still be in love with her in white, but the gold is more my style. If it's encrusted in diamond and gold, I love it!
The curtains I want have been put on my Christmas list and I'm thinking about painting the big sideboard that I said I would never paint. Gasp! I'm also deciding on a new paint color for the kitchen cabinets. I like the white, but lately I've been drawn to cabinets that are sporting blues and grays. Now, try not to fall off your chair or couch, I've started decorating for Christmas! I finished the mantel yesterday and will probably tackle the banister today. Since I'm not hosting Thanksgiving, I thought I would get a jump start on it so I won't be stressed out with how much needs to be done. I want to enjoy the season instead of being dog tired and wanting a nap.
Thanks for popping in to take a look at Gilda the Gilded Cage. Have a lovely rest of the day and remember to be kind to one another! Fear Not!
Toodles,
Kathryn

Looks great, Kathryn! All these gold accents go so well with your newly painted blue dresser with the gold handles.
ReplyDeleteLove birdcages! A gilded one is especially nice!

The gold is really pretty! It creates a great contrast. I don't really like the way that dust sticks to spray paint. My cleaning service showed me to use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to clean things like that.
ReplyDeleteKathryn,
ReplyDeleteGold is so my style too! I LOVE you gilded birdcage!! She is a beauty!!
Hugs,.
