Some Lovin' for the Voice Studio

Hello World!  Hope your week is going well.  I'm so conflicted, I have inside projects to do, but I'm itching to really get out in the flower gardens and make them pretty.  But, alas, I've been a good girl and finished one of my inside projects.

We all know it has been slow going getting window treatments other than blinds up in my house.  I do believe I might be on a roll.  I finished another scalloped, box valance for the voice studio.  And, yes, I'm actually working on panels for the dining room.  My fabric went on sale and I finally bought the material for the panels.

So, here you go.  I also rearranged the studio, yet again.
Here's the fabric for the valance.  It's the same fabric I used in the dining room valance.

I moved my little Goodwill chest in front of the window, which meant moving the Pottery Barn desk.  That sucker is heavy.

Here's the gallery wall with the desk under it.  I only had to take down one picture since the monitor would have blocked it.  And, yes, I'm going to cover the piano bench cushion.

Picked up this little box at Hobby Lobby.  It's purpose is to hold all of The Dedicated Husband's stuff.  You know, instead of putting it on the bar.

Here's the inside.  What do we have?  Lip balm, Nivea, a head lamp, sunglasses, headphones, phone case, and the all important cologne.  Don't tell me guys don't have just as much stuff as us girls.  I would just put all of this stuff, except for the head lamp, in my purse.   I guess this is too much stuff for his pockets.  lol.

Here's the fun little birdcage I bought at Goodwill and painted it with Annie Sloan chalk paint.

My sweet friend, Jill gave this to me.  She picked up several of these little dolls when she lived in Yokohama, Japan.  My nickname for her when she lived in Japan was Yokohama Mama.  I never made it over to Japan to visit her when she was there.  But, it's on my list of places to visit.

For the family room windows, I'm going to make the same valance, but without the scallop.  Also, going to make a sleeve for the actual valance hardware and then attach the valance material to the sleeve.  I didn't used a valance box which might have been easier.  But, I didn't want the valance to look stiff.

So, what do you think?  I should have the panels finished for the dining room today.  I'm using blackout lining because in the afternoon the sun just beats into the dining room and voice studio.  Looking to cut down on some of the glare.

Thank you for stopping in for a visit.  Have a good rest of your day and remember to be kind to one another.

Toodles,
Kathryn

  1. Kathryn,

Well, of course I love the valance because it is BLUE, my favorite color. I love the birdcage and I love ASCP! Funny, how little room a man's pile of "junk" takes up. HA HA I probably would have had it all in my bag too except for the head lamp. And of course my bag is a Hobo which means everything goes to the bottom and I have to dig for everything!

  4. Hi Kathryn, I love the material for the valance it turned out so pretty. By the way my husband has a box similar to your husband's box but it keeps getting bigger and bigger. I keep buying bigger ones because his things are always overflowing! Geez, I know he doesn't need to keep ALL of that junk. who knew a guy could have that much in his pockets! lol Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving kind words.
