Prior to the trip up to the Ozarks I had finished a valance for the dining room. This was my first time to sew anything following a pattern. I usually just sort of whip things up. Here is the pattern that I started with.
I followed the Scallop Pleat Valance pattern along with the help of my Mother. And, no, it was not completed in two hours.
Here's the fabric I bought at JoAnn's for $8.50. I bought all that was left on the bolt and it was on sale! Yay!
May I introduce Violetta the Valance all complete.
Next up, I will sew panels, but I'm waiting for the fabric to go on sale. So, in the meantime, I think I'll whip up a bunch of valances for the rest of my naked windows.
Thanks for popping in for a visit. As always, have a grand evening and remember to be kind to one another.
Toodles,
Kathryn

Love the color! It sort of has a look of violet but not quite. I dare say, I would not attempt to try this. I'm a self-taught sewer and not quite ready to try this! I'm afraid I would ruin the fabric. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great! And good deal on the fabric! I can't wait to see it with the panels!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this turned out great. I love a good fabric sale. I recently got some gorgeous blue floral fabric, a linen/cotten blend, for $6.00 per yard at JoAnn. I just couldn't believe my luck. I have no idea where I'm going to use it but I'm sure I'll think of something! Happy Weekend...
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss. The valance is lovely! Thanks for linking to Things I've Done Thursday!
