Voice Studio News

Hello World!  Back in December I said I had some news concerning my voice studio.  Two years ago a wonderful student started taking voice from me.  She was 13 when she walked through my door and had never had a voice lesson in her life.

Two years later, she is tackling repertoire that normally would be given to college students.   She has been a joy to work with and has a fantastic voice.  This past December, this high school sophomore auditioned for the lead Christine in The Phantom of the Opera at Lone Star College located here in the Houston area.   She won the role beating out college aged girls!  I am so proud of her!  She completely deserves this.  This little 15 year old has the goods for a career in opera if she doesn't get distracted by boys.  Hopefully, I along with her parents will keep her focused.

With that said, let me introduce the star of my voice studio, Mackenzie Bitz.  The song she is singing is "Se tu m'ami, se sospiri" which is a little Italian aria written by Pergolesi.  Please enjoy.

Isn't she lovely?  Can you believe she is only 15?  Just amazing!  I know this is a departure from my decor projects, but we can file this under beautiful and lovely to listen to.  If you are in the Houston area at the end of April and the beginning of May,  come see my Mackenzie in The Phantom of the Opera.  Sigh, I'm so happy for her and as proud as a peacock!  Have a grand evening and a wonderful weekend and remember to be kind to one another.

Toodles,
Kathryn
