A Few Books to Adore

Hello World!  I love books.  If I had all the time in the world I would have my nose in a book.  I love getting lost for hours in the pages of a good book.  Not only am I moved by the stories that are written, I'm moved by pictures that paint a story without words.  A book with pictures will always get my attention. Well, for Christmas, my Mother-in-law, Joan gave me some lovely books I've have been yearning for.  Yes, I yearn for a good book.  If you don't mind, I would love to share them with you.


First up is the Blue book by House Beautiful.

 We all know how I love stripes. 

 Next up is The World of Madeleine Castaing.

 Fabric on the ceiling...absolutely dreamy.

 Then of course, we have Details by Charles Faudree.  One cannot go wrong with Charles.  

 Exquisite.



 The only reason for this picture is the chubby pup.  So cute!

 Love, love, love. 

 I am completely in love with this chair.

    Oh, I like nothing better than to peruse a book of lovely pictures and you certainly selected some nice ones. I'll have to check out the World Of Madeleine Castaing.

    I can tell you if you are a lover of French Design then The New Eighteenth-Century Style and The New Eighteenth-Century Home by Michele Lalande will be for you. Gorgeous photos and loads of inspiration!

    I have a few decorating books by Bunny Williams and Betty Lou Phillips. I want to get some by Charles Faudree. I think your book looks very interesting and I may just have to look into one of those for myself! I love the picture of the chair you like too! Good taste!

    Hello - I am with you! I LOVE books! That is why I am involved with our local library! There's nothing to compare to looking through a beautiful book - page by page. I have been wanting the Faudree book - will have to go a head and get it! Thank you so much for sharing with A Return To Loveliness!

    I love decorating books as well, and one of my favorite designers is Charles Faudree. I was fortunate enough to have met him in person a couple years ago, and he is just as charming as his books.     I LOVE to read too, however I mainly stick to fiction. However, after looking at all of these gorgeous pics, I think I might need to pick up some design books too! Thanks for sharing.

    I love books, one of the reasons I haven't brought a Kindle. Something about opening and turning the pages. Just love it. Your designs books makes one speechless. Most of my inspiring books are garden books. Otherwise I get BHG and Good Housekeeping, that give design inspiration but not a design book. Thanks for sharing these great pictures.
