I stripped, sanded, painted her a mixture of Annie Sloan Old White and Napoleon blue, then repainted her with just Old White and put a coat of clear wax and some dark wax on her little body.
Hardware is the same that we used in the kitchen. I'm one of those people that if I find something I like, I buy a lot. Example, same shirt, different colors. These will also be making an appearance on the entertainment center. That will be another post....waaaay in the future.
So not a professional. Notice the Rapunzel balloon in the mirror reflection. If you haven't seen Tangled, go rent it. Quite the funny little movie and great music. Alan Menken is the composer. He composed the music for Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Enchanted just to name a few.
The silver platter was a Goodwill find for $6.00. Cleaned and polished her up so she is as right as rain again.
Today's post is brought to you by Camille, who thinks she should be in every camera shot. No lie, when I break out the camera this cat finds me in whatever room I'm in and she then sets up her grooming shop usually on a piece of furniture that will be in the picture. I had to move her more than once while taking these pics. I'm ready for my closeup Mr. DeMille.
Here is some of the fabric I bought that I will need to get to working on. Betty Lou, (aka Mom) I'm calling you!
I'm so glad this puppy is done. She's simple. Not much to her. Nothing spectacular. But, she will hold all of my music that doesn't have a spot in the too full bookcase. Yay, for organization. And, now she's not so bad to look at! Another cheer for functional beauty. That's definitely it for today. I'm spent. Check back for the little Goodwill find that will have you picking your jaw up off the floor. This one is a tender fix though. Can't be all She-Ra on this one.
Toodles,
Kathryn
