Hello World! Happy Friday and best wishes for a pleasant weekend! It has been crazy busy around here this week, but I did manage to finish the little table I snatched up at Goodwill. It took some doing, but I think she turned out just fine. Here is a peek at what she looks like after a bit of work.
Here is a pic during sanding. The little ridge wouldn't budge. My Dedicated Nephew, Justin tried to "chisel" it off as well. That didn't work either. So, she has several imperfections...oh well, don't we all?
The Dedicated Nephews, Justin ( in the cap), Gregory, and Grant! It was Justin who was kind enough to chisel out another piece of wood adding to her character...lol.
Now, a couple of pics after one coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White was applied.
How do you like the stacks of video cassettes and paint cans surrounding the cat carrier? Nice, huh?
Alrighty, here she is after the Annie Sloan clear wax and dark wax was applied.
Just look at those gams.
Got a wee bit of a shine on her.
Here she is after a shopping trip in my house. This will not be her final resting place. It was just the best place in the house to take pictures.
This picture was taken so you could see the cool lamp.
I love, love, love her legs and all her imperfections and missing chunks of wood. Who knew Annie Sloan Chalk Paint would boost Goodwill's sales. I'm glad to contribute. I like the little table even though there is a debate happening at The Dedicated House with the Dedicated Husband on her perfect placement.
I hope you enjoyed the Continuation of a Story. Have a good rest of your day, a wonderful weekend and remember to be kind to one another!
Toodles,
she is beautiful! I am ready to try this paint for sure now!! thanks

It's gorgeous! As if there was ever any doubt ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the work you are doing. (You know me and that my style is quite different, I would have probably kept it at the second coat of white because I like the "mod" look.) These projects and your stories are so much fun to follow.
ReplyDeleteI respectfully request more photos of Dedicated Nephew Justin, preferably chiseling.
Love Ya!
Jilly! You are too funny!! Justin will be most pleased when he reads this! Love ya back!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! Love the way the wax aged it. Thanks for linking it up!

Cute table! Nice job revamping her.
ReplyDeleteKristy @ 4 the love of WOOD
What a stunner she is! So you were able to cover her with just one coat of the chalk paint? I've not had such good luck with my pieces -- always have needed two coats.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I've heard so many good things about chalk paint, but I haven't shelled out the dough to try it yet. I have just discovered wax though and I am loving it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lines on this table and beautiful finish! I'm a new follower.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW! Your table came out great! And I think imperfections just add to the charm. LOVE the color and the character of this piece! Great job!
ReplyDeleteYep you saved her alright! She turned out beautiful and I love your idea of standing her on pots so you could paint her legs.
ReplyDeleteCute little piece! Looks fabulous
