Hello World! I have a friend who is a china collector and more often than not, sells his finds at a booth he has in a local antique mall. Last week, he called me up one morning and said he was driving out to see me for lunch and to give me a Christmas present. Sweet man gave me 10 place settings of Spode's Christmas Tree as well as some serving pieces. Below is the Spode serving plate mixed in with my other Christmas dishes that my sister gave me one Christmas.
The basket is one I got from Mary & Martha as well as the tray it sits on. Every meal, Little Dedicated knows to head to the basket and pull out our Christmas dishes. Now she has two sets to choose from.
I never realized before how vibrant the green is in the Spode pattern.
The appetizer plate is doing double duty holding our simple Christmas tree, and our Santa and Snowman salt and pepper shakers.
I can never remember to light the candle before I take the picture. Oh, well.
More Spode Christmas Tree on the built in cabinet in between the breakfast room and hearth room.
May I introduce Ginger the elf we adopted this year. Boy, what a fun little thing she has been.
The day I took pictures she was found sitting on the Santa basket filled with Christmas napkins.
She looks like she is up to something.
In another Christmas basket extra bowls, plates and napkins can be found.
It's a simple and pretty pattern that has served us well for many years.

Kathryn, your holiday dishes are delightful. We don't have a set of holiday dishes, but I do have a set of Spode St. Nick plates and mugs that William Sonoma sold years ago. They used to do a different pattern each year, but mine are all from the same year and are in red. It's fun for dessert or for when friends stop by for a cup of hot chocolate or hot tea.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Beautiful Spode china your sister gifted you. I love holiday china and plates, they look like that's what you need to put a C'mas table together. Adrable skinny elf too.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and many blessings.
FABBY
The Spode is such a classic, adorable with the Santa and Frosty shakers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet sister you have. Very pretty.
