Decorating with Oak

Hello World!  Tonight's post is about oak furniture.  My sister had a lot of oak furniture when her kids were little because of it's durability.

Quarter sawn oak furniture is often made to last for a long period of time. If you have children, then oak furniture might be better than furniture that has glass as a tabletop, such as a coffee table or end table. There won't be glass to break if the child drops something on the table or if he falls on the furniture. Another advantage to oak furniture is that you can get everything in the same color instead of getting one piece in black and something else that is in brown. All of the furnishings in the home can be the same shade to make it easier to match the rest of the decorations in the home.

Although oak furniture is heavier, it is much more reliable than something that is made of particle board. If something is spilled on the oak, it is usually easier to clean than other types of wood. Stains tend to come off easily so that the furniture will last longer. If the furniture loses its shine, all you have to do is varnish the piece to get back the shine that it once had. Instead of the furniture fading, it usually starts to get an antique appearance, something that might be a delight for many homeowners.

Thank you for dropping by for a visit.  Have a lovely evening and remember to be kind to one another!  Joy to the Full!
