Before and After Wednesday - Week 2

Hello World!  Wow!  You guys really amazed me last week with all of the great Before and After projects that were linked up.  I had a hard time choosing the features.

But, before we get started, I want to give you a peek at a portion of the piano transformation.  Truly amazing!  And, a look at the paint color for the kitchen.

First up, the piano.  Here is a side by side of the completely worn down next to the freshly painted side.  The after picture was taken with my cell phone; hence the not so hot to trot lighting.  But, you can tell what a huge difference painting has made.  When I do the final reveal, I'll share the paint I used, paint brush and a cost breakdown.  Why didn't I do this sooner?

Now, don't think I've fallen off of my rocker for wanting to repaint my kitchen cabinets.  I do have a plan in mind even though I didn't do an official mood board.  Here is my inspiration picture that really propelled me to paint my cabinets.

Here is my paint choice on a piece of cardboard (classy, no?) with my curtain swatch taped onto the kitchen cabinet.  I kept it up there for several days to see if I would ever hate it.  Needless to say, I love it.

I want to change a lot in my kitchen this year.  Other than painting the cabinets, I will paint all of the hardware and put in new countertops, backsplash and a little chandy over the sink.  The countertops will go white as will the backsplash.  I figure with the dark blue cabinets next to the dark countertop that would propel me to save more aggressively for white countertops and backsplash.  Okay enough rambling!

Welcome to Week 2 of:

This buffet from Silo Hill Farm caught my eye.  Fabulous details and I really like those chunky feet.  Grab your feature button below.

Here are a few guidelines to follow:

1.  Link up a Before and After project.  Room renovation, furniture transformation, craft transformation, sewing transformation, repurpose...anything with a Before and an After.

2.  Please, NO FOOD POSTS, sponsor/advertising pages, and no Etsy.

3.  Follow The Dedicated House.

4.  Put the button or a text link in your post.  No link back, no feature, boo!

5.  Enjoy!!

Check back soon for a quick little makeover I'm working on since I won't be able to show you the piano and the kitchen cabinets for quite some time.

  12. Great choices of colors for the kitchen cabinet and curtains. My kitchen always needs a face lift :) at least most of that can be handled with a deep cleaning and a vase of flowers.
