Hello World! How is everyone today? Is everyone almost done decorating for Christmas? I'm not. The downstairs is close to being done. I still need to decorate the white tree in the dining room and put up the village. Upstairs I need to decorate the playroom tree and add a couple of mini-trees to our little villa openings upstairs. But, today I want to show you the mantel for this year. I didn't change it up very much from last year, but I added a little bit more greenery this year. So, here we go.
I wish I had a really big mantel, but this little one does the job for now.
To the left is our nutcracker, two pale green glass tress, lights, greenery and plastic ornaments.
The buck and tree is Mr. Dedicated's stocking holder with Little Dedicated's stocking holder in the middle.
My stocking holder is the little snow man.
Another pale green glass tree in the back nestled next to the clock with a Jim Shore santa flanking the other side of the clock. The clock stays on the mantel at the request of Mr. Dedicated who has a love for clocks.
A close up of the greenery and plastic ornaments. All greenery and ornaments were purchased from Hobby Lobby.
There really is no plan when I decorate the mantel. I put things up and rearrange it, oh about 15 times until I like it.
The stocking are hung and stuffed with plastic bags until Christmas Eve to give the look of fullness. My mom made all of our stockings. She made mine years and years ago and then when Mr. Dedicated joined the family she made him one and then of course when Little Dedicated was born she made hers. I like that they don't match. However, they are the same size.
A close up of the skinny Jim Shore santa. I didn't purchase any Jim Shore this year. To be honest I'm running out of tabletops to display them on. Guess I just need a bigger house so I can buy more furniture. Lol.
I know I didn't give you a full shot of the fireplace. I just don't like our surround. If I had my way, I would rip out the tile and existing mantel and build a hearth with a massive mantel on it.
Anyhoo, there she is. I hope you enjoyed my super full Christmas mantel. Happy decorating and shopping. Anything Blue Friday will resume on Friday. Can't wait to see all of your blue decor and blue holiday decorations. Have a lovely rest of the day and remember to be kind to one another! Fear Not!
Toodles,
Kathryn

Kathryn, I love your mantel! First of all, that picture is wonderful with the street scene in the handsome gold frame and the two small mirrors flanking it. But the ornaments and Christmas decor you've used to decorate the mantel are beautiful together, and compliment the picture. And I do love that clock! You really have put together the right things here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful mantel sweet Kathryn! I love all the elements with the greenery, it's so joyful! The artwork in the Wall is stunning, so elegant with the great gold frame...I'm very particular to gold frames. I also love it super full, as you say! Have a super weekend ahead.

Gorgeous I want a fire place in my next house condo where ever I end up LOL
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
Gorgeous and all your treasures go so well with the greenery...it looks like a mantel to me! We have a fire place but hardly use it cause it's so cold here in IL that we can't go to bed until it totally burns out! So think of it that way. So very pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty ! Love all the ornaments and greenery !

ReplyDeleteYour mantel is beautiful. I'm sitting here staring at my poor mantle with our three stockings hung and nothing else. You've inspired me to get out the Christmas decor tomorrow and fill in the blanks. Thanks for sharing on the weekend re-Treat link party! Hope to see you again Thurs at 7PM EST.
