Hello World! Do you quilt? I don't, but my grandmother was our quilt maker in the family. There was one quilt she made that I loved and affectionately named it the puff quilt...because, it was puffy. Smart child, eh?
One of the offerings at Linens-N-More in Fredericksburg, TX.
Although making patchwork quilts started out as a way to save time and money by using spare pieces of fabric and older clothing to make something new, they have become an art form in and of themselves. There is a wide variety of patchwork quilting styles and techniques out there, from carefully arranged block quilting to freehanded crazy quilting. The right patchwork quilt will look great on a bed or couch, and they are always warm and comfortable.
Many people imagine a patchwork quilt as something that is homemade, but there are plenty of high-quality quilts for sale through linen and bedding companies and stores throughout the country. Linens-N-More in Fredericksburg has been one of the top retailers of patchwork quilts and other quality linens in Texas since 1983. Linens-N-More has a wide variety of patchwork quilts available for affordable prices as low as $119.99. Each quilt is made from 100 percent cotton and comes in several different sizes.
No matter what size or color quilt you might be looking for, Linens-N-More is sure to have something that fits your tastes. Who doesn't right? I love the ones that are handed down from generations. Unfortunately, I don't have one like that, but I do have one from my mom that I treasure and have used for my pretend camping when I was little. Advance happy Mothers day to you Kathryn!
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge quilt fan, but I did inherit one and quilt pieces for another from my maternal grandmother. I cherish them.
ReplyDeleteI have dozens of handmade quilts, including two that I made years ago when I fancied myself a domestic diva! Most of the quilts are from my mother-in-law's collection - but they are not displayed or used because they don't seem to "go with" my style of decorating. Maybe I should re-think this,
ReplyDeleteas it seems a shame to keep them tucked away....waiting.....for what?
Thanks Kathryn for giving me some food for thought, and a fresh perspective!
What beautiful options! One of my goals for this year is to learn quilting. -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteI just checked out hometalk and it looks like fun! Thanks for the info! I love to sleep with a quilt, so comfortable, especially in the warmer climates in the South. I need some new ones so I'll check out the linen store link, thanks
