China Hutch Part One

Hello World!  I've been trying really hard to tweak my schedule.  We all have so much to do, but I have been feeling like my head is just barely above water and I feel like nothing gets done.  So, I threw out my previous schedule and adopted a new one.  And, let me tell you after 5 days I've gotten more done on all fronts.  I designated 1 day per task or tasks in the same family of tasks.  For instance, all errands on one day, house cleaning on one day, blog work on one day, laundry on one day, gardening or outside work on one day, project or projects on one day, and then the most important one, hanging and playing with my girl.  She pretty much sticks close to me on all the other days except on cleaning day.  On that day she makes her escape to her playroom.  It's kinda funny.  I would escape to my room when I was a kid and I knew my mom was about to start cleaning.  The apple doesn't fall too far.

So, I finally got a pretty day to take pictures of the China Hutch makeover.  Mind you, this is part one.  I've got some other items that I want to put in here, but they need some outside time with a can or two of spray paint.  Holy flip I'm chatty today.  On with the China Hutch and the fabric I chose.  Here's a teaser.

I know, I completely flip-flopped.  I said I was leaning towards the plaid and then I played around with the fabric and some pieces and poof my mind was changed.  Now for what she looked like before all the feathering commenced.
Quite the hodge podge.  Now I will hush and let the pictures roll.

Here is a shot of the top two shelves.

So the blue and white wouldn't get lost against the fabric, I placed them in front of some pretty white plates and platters.
 Hello Mr. Rooster.

Not sure if these will stay in here.  They are all little animals that my Great Aunt who I was very close to gave to me; except for the gold tipped puppy dog, my Mom gave that one to me.  They need to be locked away because I know of one little girl who would love to get her precious fingers on them.  In time she will, but not quite yet.

How do you like it?  So in the next couple of weeks on project day or on outside project/gardening day I will spray paint the other items and then we will have Part Two.

Thanks for popping in to take a look.  Anything Blue Friday is still open.  Click here to head on over to the party.

  11. Beautiful!!! I'm a fan of blue and white too, but I don't have a display like you have set up. We're getting ready to replace some cabinets (vintage 1962 when house was built) so mish mosh time for sure. God Bless,
    Janet
