Hello World! How is everyone today? A handful of posts back I let you know that a rug I had ordered came in quite earlier than expected. It's always a crap shoot when the doorbell rings. It's either a solicitor or one of my favorite delivery guys. So, I was quite the ecstatic one when it was my UPS delivery guy.
My plan for my house is to take one room at a time and decorate it completely. I was getting way to scattered and losing focus and my rooms look really unfinished with some nice pieces here and there. So, the first project of the year has been to focus on my entryway. This is where the new rug has been placed. Oh, and good news, the cats are now trained to stay off of it, but I still roll it up at night. Better safe than sorry. I would really hate to have the 16 yr. old cat have a hairball too close to the rug and accidentally get some on it. Just sayin'. Okay, enough yapping. Here are like what seems a thousand pictures of The Rug.
I know, right? Is she not just the prettiest thing you ever saw? Now, here are a couple of pics of the rug that was there before.
It was in my green phase before I knew that I loved Blue/White with Beige.
Okay, back to the prettiness.
I do wish she was just a tad larger, but I have the little intricate chest that I've been working on that will go in the entryway opposite the china hutch.
A view from above looking down from the second floor.
I know it might seem risky to have a cream based rug in the entry, but I've noticed that most everyone that comes into my house are close friends and family and they usually take off their shoes. The front entry never really got dirty before with stuff being tracked in. That happens at the back door. Maybe I should sweep out back more often to keep the tracking at bay.
Anyhoo, thank you for the visit. I hope you like my rug. I lurve her. It looks like this week's Make it Pretty Monday will the largest week. We are close to 400 link ups and it's only Wednesday. It's a beautiful rug, Kathryn! I love the colors in it. The round shape is a nice touch I always find when there are lots of straight lines around.

Love your new run, the colors are stunning. Great idea to do a room at a time, that way you can focus on what you need for one area and not go crazy trying to get everything done at one. Thanks for sharing at the Cabin!
ReplyDeleteWhy not put a brown edge around the rug? That would make it a bit larger...
