The Voice Studio

Hello World!  I am so glad it's Friday! Since I'm changing my color scheme the voice studio needed to get a fresh coat of paint.  Here's the progress we've made so far in the studio.
As promised, here are some pictures of my voice studio prior to some repainting that went on in here.  This color was one of the colors in my previous color scheme.  I used to love green...now, not so much.  The green on the ceiling has a glaze mixed into it which in person gave it a marble feel.  It doesn't really show through in pictures.

Here she is after I slaved away repainting her walls and her flippin' ceiling!  I will never paint another ceiling if I can help it!  I know...those are some strong words.  They'll probably come back to bite me you know where!

Would love to put a chandy in here, but it gets a little warm in here while I'm teaching.

I know, the little one needs a candle.  Haven't made it to Hobby Lobby in a while.  Trying to have some discipline people!  Will possibly paint the candleholders to a nice white.

The book in the back was my Father's.  He acquired this while in the Air Force during his time in Korea.  It is one of the few possessions I have from my Father.  He passed away when I was four; but one day I will see him again.

The picture above the piano is a whimsical picture of dancing bears.  You cannot try to be serious when you look at this picture.

The paint color is Benjamin Moore Blue Stratford.  Same color that is on the bottom half of the dining room and the blue stripe in the kitchen and breakfast room.  I still have so much to do.  Curtains to make, seats to recover, table skirt to make, piano cushion to recover, and wood floors to put in.  I also have a gallery wall for above the computer in the works.  That should go up in the next couple of weeks. I'm also not really set on the lay out of the room.  The piano must go on an inside wall due to the lovely humidity here as well as extreme temperatures in Texas and the effect it has on pianos.  The window is not centered on the wall which is throwing me off.  If the window were centered, I would have put the desk on the window wall, but alas, we tried it and it looked poopy.  I think we will just have to make do with the layout the way it is.  I'm open to suggestions.  The room is not big and I need to leave some open floor space for my little lovely students to sing their little hearts out.

So, there she is. It seems much lighter in here since I got her painted.  The family likes it as well as the students.  I think once I get the gallery wall up and the cushions changed and table skirt made, it will come together nicely.  But, before I go, I will leave you with this.  The Dedicated Daughter started her Mother's Day Out program this week.  Yay for her and yay for me!  Alrighty, have a good weekend and remember to be kind to one another!

She picked out her back pack and lunch box herself and is quite the proud little owner.

Toodles,
Kathryn

  10. LOVE this new color! I think the candlesticks and even the tall lamp have such great detail and the old white or similar white would definitely make them pop. I'm thinking even that lovely frame on the print above the piano would look great white!

  23. Blue is my favorite color and the candles are lovely! I hope you find a matching one. Good job on the white ceiling, it does lighten the room. Your little girl is similar to mine and both seem to love Hello Kitty. :)
