Hello World! I'm going to get right to it today. It started with seeing what I thought was the cutest bedding and my furniture from when I was a young girl. The furniture is a dreamy pale yellow and the bedding happened to be from Pottery Barn Kids. Before you gasp and think I spent way too much money on kid's bedding, it was discontinued so I got it on the cheap. I waited too long to order it online and then when I got around to buying, it had been discontinued. So, I called the 800 number at Pottery Barn Kids and they checked their computers to see if anyone in the country had the bedding and lo and behold, a shop in Ohio had it in the size I needed. It was priced to move and I snatched it up.
I had never been a fan of pink, but the combination of the bedding and the furniture changed my mind. And, of course, there are stripes! I must warn you, it's pretty bold. But, The Dedicated Daughter loves it and that is all that really matters! So, here it is:
This is the bedding that started it all. Tea anyone?
Some of her favorite animals and one of her baby pillows from her nursery.
Pottery Barn Kids lamp, watering can and plate from Hallmark, and her "sing song" from her mobile that used to hang in her nursery. We still wind it up right before she goes to sleep. I hope to make a table skirt soon.
Little tea set given to the Dedicated Daughter for Christmas from her Aunt, Uncle, and cousins.
Keepsake card holder.
Teacup lamp from Pottery Barn Kids that has been discontinued. Our store in Houston happened to have it in stock. Isn't it the cutest?
Little things bought from Hallmark ages ago.
Curio cabinets from Bombay Company also bought ages ago. Some of the figurines are from Avon from when I was a little girl.
Flower pic is from Home Goods.
Isn't the lattice work on the furniture just darling?
Cute little teapot. Can't remember where I got this one. Have had it for years. Little plate from Hallmark. |
Milk Bottle doll my brother gave me for Christmas when I was a wee little girl. She needs some hair pins and a new dress. But, she is still pretty even if her dress is falling apart.
Little sugar and creamer set I got at an Antiques Mall in Houston. More Avon pieces.
Curtains and tiebacks from Pottery Barn Kids. Didn't feel like making the curtains. Lazy, lazy, lazy.
Mary Engelbreit books. We love reading out of these almost everyday!

It was a ton of fun fixing up her room. I still want to add a few more things. Crown molding is on the list as is some more wall art. Working on some embroidery pieces that I will frame and put up in her room. I hope you enjoyed looking at Falling off a Pink Cloud and Landing on a Soft Bed of Teacups. Don't forget to come back and check out the kitchen transformation. Have a grand day and remember to be kind to one another!
Toodles,
Wow! This is really cute! You are right about the combination of the furniture and the pink. They look great together!

The room looks so fun and happy. The mini tea set reminded me of mine as a child or I should say my sisters. She got the pretty white one with pink flowers and I got the ugly dark blue one with gold trim. Oh Memories.

Oh my gosh! So cute! My daughter had that same purple stuffie when she was little. Made me smile.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, the "Princess" in Dora colors is so cute! She reminds me of my daughter at that age. My daughter got a bold pink bedroom when she was about that size and she outgrew it when she was ten, so we had a long run. Love the tea cups and tea pot it is very "Alice".
