San Antonio Vacation Experience

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of SAVE for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
As all of my readers know we just got back from a little getaway down to the coast, but there is one more place I would love to squeeze in another trip before our schedules change with the start of preschool, dance, and fall students returning to my voice studio.  Where might that be?  Beautiful San Antonio, Texas of course.  San Antonio is known as one of the nation's most affordable vacation destinations.  San Antonio is making visitors' summer getaway even more value packed with

SAVE partners include top San Antonio hotels, resorts, and attractions.  SAVE makes it easy to find deals and discounts in San Antonio.  Go check out the SAVE program to get exclusive deals on some of San Antonio's best hotels and resorts, theme parks, museums, shopping and more!
Also, go check out their Limited Time Offers.
So, if I were to plan a San Antonio getaway, I know exactly what I would save on.  First off, I would definitely check out the savings for a hotel.  The SAVE hotel partners include Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk, San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk Hotel, Hilton Palacio del Rio, The Westin Riverwalk San Antonio, and many more.

The next step would be to see how much I could save on Six Flags Fiesta Texas.  Six Flags Fiesta Texas is one of SAVE's partners.  The other attractions I would check out would be Sea World and of course while we are there we must spend some time at Schlitterbahn and Splashtown.  San Antonio can get pretty hot, so it would be nice to hit up both water parks on different days for an option that would be a little cooler.  All of these attractions are partners with SAVE.  How perfect is that?  That's four attractions that we could save a ton of money on.  That would enable us to extend our stay and check out some more sights.

I know my family would love to check out the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch as well as  the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.  There's nothing better than having a day where you can reconnect with nature.  And, bonus, they are partners with SAVE.  How advantageous!
SAVE can really help you save on your San Antonio summer getaway!  How awesome is that!  We know how expensive hotels, attractions, restaurants, rental cars and gas can get...especially in the summer.  Do yourself a favor and save with SAVE. You won't be sorry!
You can also follow SAVE on twitter to find out all the updates on deals, limited time offers and ideas to help you plan your next trip to San Antonio.
Plan a trip to San Antonio and discover what a beautiful city it really is.  And, use SAVE to help make your trip more pleasant and stress free.
Off you go!  As always, wishing you a grand day and remember to be kind to one another.

Summer Excursion - Galveston Island

Hello World!  Hope all are happy and well on this fine Wednesday.  A couple of weeks back, The Dedicated Husband, daughter and myself headed down to Galveston Island for a couple of days of rest and relaxation (ha, ha).  Be forewarned, there are a ton of pictures and no, I didn't post one of myself.  I didn't wear any make-up for three days...gasp.  Just didn't feel like putting it on.  And, this is very strange for me...since I love make-up.

We stayed at the San Luis Hotel and Resort which has views of the Gulf of Mexico.  We had a nice room on the 14th floor which afforded us some lovely views of the ocean and the pool below.  Enjoy.

Gulf of Mexico View

The pool with the beach beyond.

The water slide with waterfall alcove at the resort.

Ready to go to the beach.
A windy day at the beach right before the storm blew in.

After the storm, we headed over to Pleasure Pier which just opened up this summer.  Okay, this was my favorite part of the trip.  I love rides!

On the carousel.  She was a little cautious.  But, she went from this to this...

Beautiful detail work on the carousel.

No, I didn't ride the swings.  They weren't working yet.
This picture was taken high up on the ferris wheel.
The Iron Shark.  See the vertical section?  The rider goes straight up and then straight down!  Did I ride it?  Yes, I did!  This is one of the best roller coaster rides I've been on.
I literally squealed when I saw that Pleasure Pier had a blue and white teacup ride.  The Dedicated Daughter loved this one.  We probably rode this one at least 10 times.

We loved the bumper cars as well.  I'm a little aggressive when driving a bumper car.

Don't you love his face?

What a good Daddy to ride all the kiddy rides with her until she was willing to ride them by herself.

Pleasure Pier was followed up by dinner at The Rainforest Cafe.
The wedding gazebo on the San Luis Resort property.

A lobby table and mirror I adored.
The dolphin fountain that greets you as you enter the hotel.

Galveston Island is a beautiful little island for a quick getaway.  It is wonderful to see Galveston coming back to life after being ravaged by Hurricane Ike.  I for one am very happy.  I love being able to hop in the vehicle and be at the coast in about an hour and a half.  And, now I have a new favorite:  Pleasure Pier.  We will be back!

I hope you enjoyed our little summer excursion.  Have you gone anywhere this summer?  I must confess, I'm ready for the schedule to be tightened up again.  But, I will relish this last year I have with the Dedicated Daughter before she heads off to kindergarten.  One more year with her going to Mother's Day Out and spending her time home with us.

Don't forget, the giveaway is still going on.  Click here for an opportunity to win a free 3 month subscription to eMeals.  I will announce the winner on Friday.

Also, the Make it Pretty Monday party is still rocking.  Click here to join in the bash!

As always, wishing you a grand day and remember to be kind to one another.
