Inspirational Trip

Hello World!  It's Monday and maybe there are some who are wishing they could extend their weekend just a wee bit longer.  Well, I can't add another day to our weekend, but I can send you on an inspirational trip.

Please have your seat in an upright position and your tray table up because you are about to take off.  There is a travel picture website I have adored for years.  You can see pictures like this:

Her Final Resting Place

Hello World!  It's the start of a brand new week and another painting project.  It's a small project, but it does require the emptying of a china hutch and moving it off of the wall.  Anyhoo, I thought I would show you where the little table I recently reworked with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint ended up.  There was a small debate about her placement, but all has been squared away.  Without further ado, here she is with a few more things added to her.

Fabulous Giveaway over at French Country Cottage

Hello World!  My new friend, Courtney is having a wonderful giveaway over at French Country Cottage.  She was fortunate enough to meet Fifi O'Neill in my old California stomping grounds...the wine country...sigh.  Fifi O'Neill has a new book out called Romantic Prairie Style.  Fifi does not disappoint.  Any of you that happen to follow her blog Chez Fifi will know this.  Courtney got a signed copy of Romantic Prairie Style and will be giving it away at French Country Cottage. So, pop on over to Courtney's wonderful blog to enter for your chance to win a signed copy of Romantic Prairie Style.   Betty Lou (that's my Mom, isn't her name fun to say...say it out loud and sing the Lou, you'll be glad you did), you'll like this giveaway!  Do your Saturday chores, go to French Country Cottage, and then go out and have a great day!  Remember to be kind to one another!

The Continuation of a Story - Goodwill and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

Hello World!  Happy Friday and best wishes for a pleasant weekend!  It has been crazy busy around here this week, but I did manage to finish the little table I snatched up at Goodwill.  It took some doing, but I think she turned out just fine.  Here is a peek at what she looks like after a bit of work.

Another Goodwill Find for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

Hello World!  Happy Monday and all that!  Today's post will be dedicated to this sweet table I found at Goodwill while out with my Mom and The Dedicated Daughter on a little shopping trip.  This cutie was only $12.50 and is not in bad shape at all.  She definitely will need some sanding.  Here are some pics of this little beauty just waiting for some TLC and of course Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Falling off a Pink Cloud and Landing on a Soft Bed of Teacups

Hello World!  I'm going to get right to it today.  It started with seeing what I thought was the cutest bedding and my furniture from when I was a young girl.  The furniture is a dreamy pale yellow and the bedding happened to be from Pottery Barn Kids.  Before you gasp and think I spent way too much money on kid's bedding, it was discontinued so I got it on the cheap.  I waited too long to order it online and then when I got around to buying, it had been discontinued.  So, I called the 800 number at Pottery Barn Kids and they checked their computers to see if anyone in the country had the bedding and lo and behold, a shop in Ohio had it in the size I needed.  It was priced to move and I snatched it up.

I had never been a fan of pink, but the combination of the bedding and the furniture changed my mind.  And, of course, there are stripes!  I must warn you, it's pretty bold.  But, The Dedicated Daughter loves it and that is all that really matters!  So, here it is:

Repainted Kitchen Clock

Hello World!  I hope everyone from the United States had a wonderful 4th of July!  Okay, I know, you're wondering where are the pictures from the completed kitchen.  They haven't been taken yet.  I'm waiting for a few cabinet doors to "set" before rehanging and putting hardware on.  In the meantime, here is our kitchen clock that I repainted blue and white.  It was formerly a dark green which went with my previous color scheme.  Sorry, no before pictures.  I searched and searched to no avail.
